The project of revival of the Empire, is now trying to realize the power of Russia, is impossible without Ukraine. That is why the Kremlin actively opposed the creation of a unified Church in Ukraine. After the independence of the Ukrainian Church from Moscow completely changes the balance of power, making the Imperial project of Russia is impossible.
The Archbishop of Chernihiv and Nizhyn Yevstratov ptsu dawn on the 12th Kiev forum said that today there is a struggle that will determine whether global Christianity to move with the world ahead or return to the “Imperial medieval paradigm.”
So, the Ecumenical Patriarchate is an example of Orthodoxy moves forward. At the same time, the Moscow Patriarchate on the contrary – is trying to revive the Imperial model, and go far back into the past.
Here, Ukraine is key, as in other matters, because without Ukraine, where more than 40% of the entire network of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Imperial project is impossible as well as without Ukraine’s state, political, social, economic and other plans. That is why it is so hard trying to keep the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Because the independence of the Ukrainian Church from Moscow completely changes the balance of power
– said the Archbishop.
However, the support of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, his leadership, his traditional rights and places in the life of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine despite the opposition of Moscow sooner or later lead to the fact that the balance will be installed.
Note, Russia and the Russian Orthodox Church used all possible means to Orthodox churches for as long as possible did not recognize a single Orthodox Church in Ukraine. The Kremlin even blackmailing other churches, but such actions are still doomed to failure. So, a lot of churches that were first negatively set against the DNC began to change his mind.

December 15, during the Unifying Council of Orthodox bishops announced the unification of the Ukrainian churches in the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
