The EU decided to support Cyprus.
The foreign Ministers of the countries of the European Union approved a package of sanctions against Turkey for the illegal drilling of the continental shelf off the coast of Cyprus.
Reportedly, the Minister for European Affairs of Germany, Michael Roth called Turkey’s actions unacceptable and provocative. According to him, the EU decided to support Cyprus.
In accordance with the agreements, the EU will limit financial assistance to Turkey and suspend talks with Turkey on a new agreement on air transport.
Also the foreign Ministers of the countries of the European Union stated that Turkey is facing new sanctions if it will continue operating illegally in the Cyprus offshore.
