The European Union next week will approve of “Azov package” of sanctions against the Russian Federation. This was stated to journalists following the Munich security conference, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
“I have no doubt that in the near future, early next week in Brussels sanctions after coordination with Ukraine will definitely be taken,” he said.
The Ukrainian head of state reminded that the issue of “Azov package” of sanctions against Russia was discussed with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, and the head of the U.S. Senate Committee on foreign relations James Resem.
“In General, adopted the so-called “Azov package of sanctions” is exactly what I promised in December 2018,” – he stressed.
According to Poroshenko, today the corresponding draft sanctions is 124 pages, and the price that Russia will be forced to pay for an act of aggression against Ukraine, will increase.
Presumably, the EU may expand sanctions list of the Russian Federation on eight names.
