The first tanker with almost 80 thousand tons of crude oil for Belarus arrived in the Lithuanian port of Klaipeda.
This was reported on Saturday the press Secretary of the Belarusian state concern “Belneftekhim” Alexander Tishchenko.
“In the port of Klaipeda, June 5, at 23 o’clock arrived and began unloading the tanker carrying 77 thousand tons of crude oil of the Bakken varieties. Then the oil will be sent by rail to the Novopolotsk oil refinery”, – said in comments Tishchenko.
As noted a press-the Secretary Belarus is the twelfth tanker delivery this year from suppliers, the Russian alternative.
“The total amount of tanker deliveries exceeded one million tons of oil,” – said Tishchenko.
In may, the Belarusian foreign Minister Vladimir Makei said that the country starts buying oil from the US. According to him, this became possible on the basis of agreements reached during his visit to Minsk on 1 February, US Secretary of state Michael Pompeo and his meeting with President Alexander Lukashenko.
In the “Belneftekhim” said that the Belarusian side expects the delivery of crude oil to your refinery by pipeline from Poland. Lukashenko also said that the United States can allocate cheap loans to build a pipeline to pump oil from the Baltic to the Republic.Belarus diversifitsirovat oil supplies to its refineries on the background of periodic price differences with major and traditional supplier – Russia. Continuing to buy Russian oil supplies through the main Druzhba pipeline and by rail, Belarus is working with the alternative transportation routes of raw materials to their refineries.
