The cost of the work of prosecutors, the court and the witness protection fully assume the Netherlands, where, according to the previously reached agreement of the governments of the five States must go through the process.
This Memorandum specifies a period of five years with possibility of further extension if necessary every two years by agreement of the parties, said the government of the Netherlands.
Commenting on the signing of the document, the Minister of foreign Affairs of the Netherlands Stef Blok wrote on Twitter: “the participating Countries of the Joint investigation team are devoted to establishing the full truth about the crash of MH17 and to bring to justice the perpetrators.”
The Boeing 777 Malaysia Airlines flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur was shot down on 17 July 2014 in Donetsk region. Killed 298 people aboard. The passengers of the flight were citizens of 10 countries. Most of the victims (196 people) are citizens of the Netherlands. The investigation revealed that the Boeing was shot down by a missile 9M38 series, which is used in anti-aircraft missile complex “Buk”. The plant was delivered from Russia and launched from the territory, which at that time was controlled by militants “DNR”.
