The Minister of foreign Affairs and European integration of the Republic of Moldova Oleg Tulea in the near future to visit Kiev.
This was discussed during the Ukrainian-Moldovan political consultations via videoconference at the level of Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vasily Bodnar and state Secretary of the Ministry of foreign Affairs and European integration of Moldova Dumitru Socolan, the press service of the Ukrainian foreign Ministry.
It is also noted that during the current consultations, the interlocutors confirmed mutual support in the resolution of conflicts and countering Russian aggression on the basis of international law, primarily the principle of territorial integrity of States.
Special attention was paid to regional security issues and coordinate efforts to resolve the Transnistrian conflict, in particular the cooperation in the implementation of border controls and the use of license plates.
“Reaffirmed the need for the withdrawal of Russian troops from Transnistria, as well as the implementation of disposal of surplus ammunition in the village of Kolbasna under international control”, – informed the Minister.
Bodnar and Sokolan also discussed practical steps for realization of joint projects in trade-economic, energy, transport and cultural-humanitarian spheres. To this end, the parties agreed on the preparation of regular meetings of joint commissions and working groups, particularly the intergovernmental Ukrainian-Moldovan joint Commission on trade-economic cooperation.
In addition, the parties agreed on further cooperation in the framework of international and regional organizations such as UN, OSCE, COE, BSEC, GUAM.
Sokolan thanked the Ukrainian side for assistance in the return of more than 15 thousand citizens of Moldova in the context of measures to combat the spread of the pandemic COVID-19. In turn Bodnar thanked the Republic of Moldova provided on June 28 Ukraine humanitarian aid to fight the consequences of the floods in the Western regions.
