The Ministry of internal Affairs want to attract the local authorities and owners of roads to the installation of recording cameras.
“Now the introduction of automatic commit violations of traffic Rules is at the stage when it is necessary to involve local authorities and owners of roads. Ministry of interior initiated amendments to the budget code in December 2018 ode to the Verkhovna Rada supported them”, – said interior Minister Arsen Avakov.
According to him, from now on, 50% of the funds will flow into the General budget Fund budget, 30% local authorities and 20% to MIA and Netpolicy to ensure the fixing of violations of traffic rules and send email messages about violations.
Avakov added that the interior Ministry calculated the primary need for the cameras to start system auto-commit violations of traffic regulations.
“This is 1776 cameras, of which 1187 cameras on the roads, settlements, and 589 – on the state roads. At the end of last year, the Ministry of internal Affairs has developed a data processing system as a key element of auto-commit. During the month there was carried out testing of the system. The results of the police made more than 15 500 test of the regulations on administrative offences”, – said the Minister.
In November 2017, the Ministry of internal Affairs planned for a year and a half to place on the roads 4,000 cameras for photo and video recordings.
In June 2018, the interior Ministry said that the introduction of automatic photo and video fixation of traffic violations required more than 1.1 billion UAH.
