May 20, Vladimir Zelensky officially became President of Ukraine. The inauguration ceremony attracted many international leaders, including the President of Hungary Janos Ader and President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite. They said that they are ready to cooperate with Zelensky and to assist Ukraine in dealing with complex issues.
So, the leader of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite called Zelensky “crush” rooted in Ukraine’s oligarchic system.
The new President wants so many changes, it is associated with high expectations of people. Therefore, these changes are possible if people will support it, and, of course, if the President will be able to use this support, will be able to take advantage of the situation and to finally crush the oligarchical system which was established and operates in Ukraine for almost 30 years,
– said Grybauskaite.
According to her, Ukraine is now at a crossroads, “she’s got a lot of challenges but also huge opportunities.” However, Lithuania fundamentally supports the Ukrainians, the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and is ready to give her full support.
The Lithuanian President explained that voting in the presidential election for Zelensky, Ukrainians expressed a strong desire to live in a European country with European standards of democracy and law.
“It is therefore particularly important to overcome corruption, to ensure transparency of public institutions, courts and protection rights of the Western business culture, reform of the energy sector, improve energy security and to implement other important reforms,” she added.
At the same time, the President of Hungary Janos Ader called promising first talks with Zelensky, which took place after the inauguration, writes “Radio Freedom”.
He suggested Zelensky as soon as possible to establish a joint Commission to discuss “controversial issues in a relaxed atmosphere.” In particular, we can talk about the law of Ukraine on education, the law on functioning of Ukrainian as the state language, dual citizenship, which Kiev and Budapest are constantly emerging disputes. According to the Hungarian President, the Ukrainian head of state approvingly accepted this offer.
“We are interested in building these comfortable and relaxed relationship that we have with our other neighbors. After all, Ukraine is the largest by population of the neighbouring state. We are ready for it. At the same time, I made it clear that Transcarpathian Hungarians do not ask for more than to abide by the Constitution and the assumed international agreements obligations,” said Ader.
According to Hadad, now in Ukraine the rights of the Hungarian minority are more limited than in the Soviet Union.
He also Zelensky invited to visit Hungary to discuss checkpoints and environmental protection in the border strip.

A few hours after that Zelensky has signed his first decree that accepted the credentials of the Supreme commander of the Armed forces.
