Vladimir Putin’s order on a simplified procedure for obtaining Russian citizenship to residents of the occupied territories can be dangerous for Ukraine
Such a move is a deliberate escalation of aggression against Ukraine and the pressure on the leadership of the state.
24 April, Putin signed a decree on simplified procedure of obtaining Russian citizenship.
The document stipulates that the application for issuance of citizenship from residents of the breakaway republics should consider no longer than three months. Due to Putin’s decree, Ukraine has already appealed to the UN security Council.
“The issuance of Russian passports to inhabitants of the occupied territories of Donbass Putin creates legal conditions for the official use of the armed forces of Russia against Ukraine”, – said the Secretary of national security Council and defense of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov.
“This is due to the fact that the Russian legislation allows the use of armed force to protect Russian citizens outside the Russian territory,” – said Turchinov.
The answer to this can be only one – the strengthening of the defense potential of Ukraine and appropriate international response to the criminal actions of the Kremlin with increased sanctions pressure on the aggressor country, said Secretary of the NSDC.
Note for the 2017-2018 so-called “Migration service, Ministry of internal Affairs of DNR” issued “passports” about 2 thousand foreign nationals. And here already the question arises – why them the documents, which documents are not, and nowhere, except in occupied territory, is guaranteed to not be useful?
The answer is obvious: the occupation authorities “DND” use these people for the legalization and promotion of psevdorespubliki abroad. Of course, with the holders of “passports” are war criminals, mercenaries and enemy agents. A separate issue for the Ukrainian special services – what countermeasures must be taken against such foreigners in Ukraine and in their home countries.
At the disposal of the group “Information resistance” was a list of aliens who have been granted the “passport of the NPT.” Among them – representatives of Abkhazia, Vietnam, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, Greece, Egypt, Spain, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Moldova, Serbia, Syria, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, the Czech Republic and even Chile. The largest cohort of holders of “passports DNR” are citizens of the Russian Federation. More than five hundred. In the lists, there are also persons without citizenship.
