The network of supermarkets “the seventh continent” has declared increase of the prices for some food commodities in the conditions of the quarantine imposed in Ukraine in connection with the coronavirus. This is stated in the press release of the company.
In particular, the products of the so-called borsch (potatoes, cabbage, onions, carrots) rose 35-128%, sugar 8%, pasta by 9.5%, wheat 11%, buckwheat by 51%, flour – 5%, eggs – 6%.
The company “ATB-Market”, explains the increase in prices for these commodities soaring purchase prices from suppliers for the retail chain “ATB”, but for all operators of the Ukrainian market of retail trade.
Suppliers, in turn, claim that rising costs of production associated with the accepted quarantine actions. In particular, these include prohibitions and restrictions on the stay of large number of workers in the same room. Transportation problems also affected the situation in the trade.
