The Committee on political Affairs and security the OSCE parliamentary Assembly’s 54 votes in favor, six against and six abstained adopted a resolution on non-recognition of the Crimea part of the Russian Federation.

The OSCE PA “reaffirmed its full respect for sovereignty” and territorial integrity of Ukraine “within its internationally recognized borders that encompass the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, city of Sevastopol and marine areas”.
In addition, the Assembly condemned the illegal occupation of Crimea by Russia and called on Moscow to withdraw its forces from the Peninsula and bring it back under control of the Ukrainian government.
The text of the resolution also said about the increasing militarization of the sea of Azov by Russia and the Crimea. The text included a call to Russia to provide medical and legal assistance to the Ukrainian sailors arrested after the incident in the Kerch Strait in November 2018.
The Russian delegation tried to push through an amendment, which excluded from the text of the resolution of the OSCE PA thesis about the de-occupation of Crimea and the withdrawal of Russian armed forces present on the territory of Ukraine, but was unable to.
Changes were proposed to amend the paragraph of the resolution, according to which the OSCE PA urged “to cease hostilities in the East of Ukraine, to carry out a complete withdrawal of heavy weapons by both parties to put an immediate end to the use of anti-personnel mines and to increase investment in demining efforts”.
According to the text, the OSCE PA supports the use of Special monitoring mission of OSCE drones to monitor the situation in the Azov sea and Kerch Strait.
The Committee on political Affairs and security the OSCE parliamentary Assembly on 6 July by a majority of voters supported the inclusion in the draft resolution, the amendment to the responsibility of Russia for violation of the obligations under the Treaty on the elimination of
intermediate-and shorter-range missiles.
