The PACE Committee on political Affairs and democracy approved the report on the conflict in the sea of Azov. This was announced by Verkhovna Rada Commissioner on human rights Lyudmila Denisova in Facebook
According to the Ombudsman in Strasbourg held its fourth meeting. This time the representative of the Ombudsman for the protection of the rights of servicemen Oleg Trofimenko with the participation of relatives of prisoners of war communicated with the head of the Secretariat of the PACE Committee on political Affairs and democracy Sylvia’s Arzilli. During the meeting the sides discussed the draft resolution on “the recent Escalation of tensions around the sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait and threats to European security.”
“Report on the situation was considered and was approved together with the proposed amendments of the MP of Ukraine, member of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE, Alexei Goncharenko, the PACE Committee on political Affairs and democracy,” wrote Denisov.
She noted that the text voted by all except one member of the Committee.
So, according to Denisova, it turned out that the text of the document “status of the Ukrainian prisoners of war is not specified and there is only the concept of “sailors”.
“In this regard, after meeting with Sylvia arzilli of these issues conveyed to the member of the Ukrainian delegation in PACE Alexey Goncharenko. He, in his turn, noted that on January 23 this issue will be worked on. That is tomorrow will consider possible amendments to the draft resolution,” wrote Denisov.
