The foreign Ministry said that Polish border guard did not know what is the function of people included in the list of Interpol
The Minister of foreign Affairs of Poland Jacek Czaputowicz said that the decision on detention of the Ukrainian activist Igor Mazur was taken to the border service, which does not know what is the function of the person who is on the list of Interpol. About it reports RBC-Ukraine with reference to TVN24.
According to him, the Polish consular authorities with the Ukrainian side explains the reasons for making Mazur wanted, but according to the rules of Interpol, the Polish guards had to detain him.
“Ukraine and Russia are parties to the agreement of Interpol and border service is obliged to hold such a man,” he said.
The foreign Minister of Poland also noted that the parties to the agreement can sometimes abuse power.
“Sometimes the parties to the agreement of Interpol abuse the opportunity to include in the lists. These questions will be analyzed and studied. The relevant decisions of the Polish authorities will be taken in accordance with international law”, – said Czaputowicz.
Earlier, the speaker of the Polish Sejm małgorzata Gosiewska said that Mazur would not convey Russia.
“Civil activist and veteran of the war in the Donbass, in Georgia and Chechnya became a victim of the Eastern neighbors. He was introduced by the Russian authorities in the register of detention of Interpol. This is a good example of the use by the Kremlin of the institutions of international law for political revenge,” she said.
