The Prosecutor General’s office of Ukraine made the message on suspicion to the Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vladimir Zhirinovsky in infringement of territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine.
“The pretrial investigation established that Vladimir Zhirinovsky, in the territory of the Russian Federation, 20 February 2014 live television broadcast and Feb 23, 2014 during a meeting (rally) made public calls for the accession of the Crimea and South-Eastern regions of Ukraine in the Russian Federation”, – said the press service of the Prosecutor General.
Also on 20 March 2014 Vladimir Zhirinovsky, being the Deputy of the state Duma, voted in favor of the adoption of Federal laws on the inclusion of the Russian Federation in its composition of Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, which later led to a full-scale occupation of the territory of the Crimea and Sevastopol.
“On these facts criminal activities 22 January 2019 employees of the Department of supervision over observance of laws by bodies engaged in combating organized crime, General Prosecutor’s office drafted the message on suspicion to Vladimir Zhirinovsky in the Commission of a criminal offense under part 3 of article 110 of the Criminal code of Ukraine (infringement of territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine – Ed.)”, – the report says.
It is noted that Zhirinovsky alleged offense includes the possibility of conviction in Ukraine for up to 12 years of imprisonment.
