The American company J. D. Power published its annual rating of the quality of new cars IQS (Initial Quality Study) based on the results of a survey of American motorists, being the first owners car for at least three years. They were asked to answer 177 questions about the issues that occurred during the period of operation. All the questions were divided into eight categories. On the basis of the survey were compiled, showing the average number of defects per 100 vehicles of each make.
The leader of the rating became the premium brand Genesis 89 complaints per 100 vehicles sold. In the second place Lexus (100/100), the third – Buick (103/100). Fourth place Porsche – 104/100, the fifth Toyota – 113/100. Also in the top ten Volkswagen (116), Lincoln (119), BMW (123), Chevrolet (123) and Ford (126). At the end of the list were manufacturers, such as Jaguar (186), Chrysler (214) and Land Rover (220).
The American market the South Korean brand has released in 2016 with two sedans, G80 and G90. One of them – G80 – was recognized as the best mid-size car premium, whereas G90 in the TOP did not hit. In the category of full-size models, the victory went to the Toyota Avalon, compact – Honda Fit, a compact sport – Mazda MX-5 Miata compact premium cars – and Lexus ES mid-size – Buick Regal.
Ford F-150 and Toyota Tundra have been noted as the most reliable full-size pickups. Among heavy-duty pickups, the most reliable named the Chevrolet Silverado HD, and among the mid-size Nissan Frontier.
The cars of GM this year were the best in several categories. So Buick Encore won in the category of compact crossovers, the Chevrolet Equinox is a mid – size crossovers and Chevolet Tahoe full – size SUVs.
Another model Toyota – 4Runner – became the best in the category medium-sized SUVs. Lexus GX American motorists are singled out in the category of mid-size SUVs, premium-class and Toyota Sienna are among minivans.
