Negotiations between France, Germany, Ukraine and Russia will be launched in may in the case of the election of President Poroshenko
During meetings with French President of the Emanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel discussed preparations for summit in Normandy format. This was announced by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on the TV channel STB, the correspondent of RBC-Ukraine.
According to Poroshenko, with Germany and France firmly declared support to Ukraine and coordination of activities with Ukraine for the near future.
“We have agreed that immediately after the election in the event of my re-election opens a window of opportunity in may or June. We initiate holding of the summit in Normandy format”, – said Poroshenko.
According to him, the agenda of the summit will support the truce declared in Eastern Ukraine, the withdrawal of Russian troops and artillery from the Donbas.
“We will begin talking about the control on the uncontrolled part of the Russian-Ukrainian border, which is under occupation, the organization of the security component to initiate a political process,” he added.
Poroshenko added that these issues were discussed in detail both in Berlin and in Paris on Friday, April 12.
“In addition, we have agreed that we will make every effort to release the hostages,” the President concluded.
