The attack in Kharkov, on the March of Unity, occurred on 22 February 2015. This tragedy was the first terrorist act in Kharkov, Ukraine, which claimed the lives of the people.

The explosion in Kharkov
22 Feb 2015 in Kharkov was organized by the March of Unity. Its members planned to walk from the sports Palace to Svobody square, to demonstrate the unity of Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression.
However, at 13:20, when the convoy of activists barely managed to pass the first hundred meters, next to her explosion. The explosive device was an anti-personnel mine with a radio-controlled detonator, which previously hid in the snow on the route of the procession.
The victims of the attack
In the attack, was wounded eleven people, four were killed:
- Igor Tolmachev: 52 years, organizer and coordinator of the Euromaidan movement and the volunteer movement in Kharkov. Awarded the order “For courage” III degree and the medal “For the sacrifice and love of Ukraine” posthumously.
- Vadim Rybalchenko: 37 years old, Colonel of the Ukrainian police, was killed in the line of duty. Awarded the order “For courage” III degree posthumously.
- Daniel Didik: 15 years, student, social activist. Died the next day after the attack, in hospital, without regaining consciousness. Awarded the order “For courage” III degree and the medal “For the sacrifice and love of Ukraine” posthumously.
- Nicholas Melnychuk: 18 years, student, social activist. Died on February 24, 2015, from the received wounds. Awarded the order “For courage” III degree posthumously.
Mourning in Kharkiv
In 2016, near the site of the tragedy was opened a memorial sign. February 22 near him, rallies in memory of the victims of the attack.
The band Kozak System was dedicated to the deceased Danilo Didiko the song “Sleep my little Kozachok”.
On suspicion of committing a terrorist act in Kharkiv in 2015 was arrested three: Victor Tatski, Vladimir Janitors and Sergey Bashlykov. According to police, the terrorists had been recruited by the Russian intelligence services and to provide specialized training in Belgorod. For this crime they had to pay ten thousand dollars.
The trial of the demolition lasted until 2019. In December 2019 it became clear that terrorists in the framework of the prisoner exchange demands to give Russia. The information that criminals can go free, caused a wave of public outrage in Kharkov and Kiev held a protest against the decision.
28 Dec 2019 Victor Tatski, Vladimir Janitors and Sergey Bashlykov was handed over to representatives of terrorist groups “L/DNR” during the exchange of prisoners.
