The Ukrainian delegation will not attend the next session of the parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), said MP from the faction “people’s Servant”, the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on foreign Affairs and inter-parliamentary cooperation Bohdan Yaremenko.
“Having no other possible response to violations of the organization’s own principles, and in the face of rather blatant ignoring of its interests, Ukraine is currently refrains from sending its delegation to the next session of PACE,” wrote Yaremenko on his Facebook page on Saturday.
The MP stressed that at the present time the focus will be on preparation of the Ukrainian delegation in PACE and consult with other members of the Council of Europe to “develop a plan for the return of confidence in the PACE”.
“This approach was supported by the majority factions of the Ukrainian Parliament”, – wrote Yaremenko.
On the eve of the constituent Assembly by the delegation of the Verkhovna Rada in PACE. MP from the faction “people’s Servant” Elizabeth Jasko headed the delegation. First Deputy head of the delegation elected the people’s Deputy from “Batkivshchyna” Serhiy Sobolev, and the Deputy – representative of the faction “the Voice” Rustem Umerov.
