The Treaty on the elimination of intermediate-range should cover not only Russia and the United States, but China. Said the President of the United States Donald trump. In conversation with journalists the head of the White house has confirmed that his country intends to withdraw from the Treaty because, according to the American administration, Russia has not complied with the terms of the document.
Against the background of these statements by one of the journalists asked trump, US ready to build a nuclear Arsenal.
– Russia does not adhere to the agreement. It should have been done many years ago. We now have more money than anyone else. We are going to build a nuclear Arsenal until then, until the others come around. When this happens, we will all become cleverer and stop. It is a threat for all, including for Russia and China.
– This threat is addressed to Vladimir Putin?
– It is addressed to anyone, including Russia and China, anyone who wants to play these games.
A day earlier in Moscow met foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov and assistant to the President for national security John Bolton. One of the topics of the talks was the future of the INF Treaty. Bolton stressed that the intention of the trump to withdraw from the Treaty is not an attempt to get US any advantage, as some people think.
On Tuesday, Bolton will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to the press Secretary head of state Dmitry Peskov, Putin repeatedly said that the United States de facto had taken actions that blur the provisions of this agreement.
Galina Polonskaya, Euronews: “the Empty rhetoric of Donald trump or a real threat of withdrawal from the INF Treaty the United States? Moscow hopes that John Bolton would clarify the issue. And, perhaps, the main answers will be given during the second day of his visit. Analysts believe that to talk with the Kremlin in the language of ultimatums is meaningless.”
