Parties to an armed conflict in Yemen agreed to exchange prisoners. It is planned to exchange 1.5-2 thousand supporters of the Pro-Saudi coalition on 1-1,5 thousand fighters of the Shia “Ansar Allah” (Houthis).

A new round of consultations on Yemen held in Stockholm. As a mediator, the UN special envoy on Yemen Martin Griffiths: “you All have expressed their commitment to a political resolution of the crisis. What needs to happen in the near future, will be a landmark, historic event. Not retreat, let’s not retreat, no matter what obstacles may come in our way. Let us show the goodwill, honesty and energy. Then, I have no doubt we will become carriers of peace for the people of Yemen”.

Yemen four years living in conditions of armed conflict between the Shiite Houthis movement, which controls the Western part of the country, including the capital Sana’a and coalition forces headed by Saudi Arabia, which supports ousted President Mansour Hadi.

The civil war caused a severe humanitarian crisis. Several million people are on the verge of starvation.
