The writer “Cheating” and “Slave” Daria Grcevich worked on the film “Roses Modigliani”, the shooting of which is planned in co-production of Italy and Russia. Sponsored by Libya Alcade and Xenia Volochkovskaya, the press service of the project.
The film is timed to the 100th anniversary since the death of the Italian painter Amadeo Modigliani in the 2020th year. She tells about the little-known love story of two geniuses – Modigliani and the Russian poet Anna Akhmatova – who played a significant role in their subsequent work. The action will unfold in Paris and St. Petersburg 1910-ies during the honeymoon Akhmatova and Nikolai Gumilev’s where the love story line will intersect with fierce political and personal events of all the heroes of the tape.
To produce the project are Dmitriy Litvinov, Vadim Byrkin, Ekaterina Kononenko, Gianluca Lazzaroni and Jean Gontier. According to the creators of the film, the Director’s chair may take Roman Coppola. At the moment part of the crew is in the final stages of approval, and soon the team will be able to get to work. The project also supported major cultural institutions and foundations and is created in close cooperation with the Institute of Modigliani in Italy. The release is tentatively scheduled for 2021.
