Three-quarters of Ukrainians do food stocks for the winter

Three-quarters of Ukrainians (75%) usually make stocks for the winter, whereas now 23% of the population. This is evidenced by a survey company Research & Branding Group.

According to the survey, this year the most common in Ukraine species of winter food reserves are seaming conservation / pickles (69%) and jams / juices (61%).
About half of Ukrainians did this year laying the vegetables in the cellar (49%) and frozen vegetables (48%). Less popular among Ukrainians kind of winter food reserves are the procurement of dried fruit (36%), the freezing of meat (33%), purchase products long – term storage- sugar cereals, pasta (31%) and meat canning (18%).

Among those Ukrainians, who this year engaged in the preservation and pickles, the most popular are cucumbers (85%) and tomato (77%). Next in popularity followed by Lecho and pepper (48%), mixed vegetables (46%), eggplant (38%), vegetables (36%), mushrooms (35%), squash / eggplant caviar (32%), tomato paste (26%), vegetable dishes (23%). Least of all Ukrainians themselves canned corn / green beans / green peas (14%) and beet (12%).

The survey was conducted in the period from 25 October to 5 November 2019 among 2001 respondents throughout Ukraine with the exception of territories occupied by Russia. Method of research – personal formalized interview (face-to-face). The maximum margin of sampling error is 2.2%.
