Toyota announced two new versions of the Corolla: sport GR Sport and cross-version of Trek. Premiere of new products will take place at the Geneva motor show. In Europe, sales of the Corolla Trek will start in August 2019, GR Corolla Sport in January 2020.
Corolla GR Sport is the second model of the brand in the European lineup of the Toyota GR after Sport presented last year in Paris of the Yaris hatchback Sport GR. The new design is inspired by GAZOO Racing company is positioned as a car for “young and enthusiastic customers.” From the standard sports version of the Corolla features a new grille with a dark chrome trim, aerodynamic body kit and rear diffuser and 18-inch alloy wheels in a special design. The standard equipment led head optics (including fog lights). Body Corolla GR Sport painted in unique colors Dynamic Grey with a black roof.
The cabin is fitted with sports seats with black fabric finish and leather headrests, optional all-leather upholstery. On the steering wheel, shift lever and transmission instrument panel decorative black and red stitching. In the engine range of two standard hybrid powertrain with the petrol engines of 1.8 and 2.0 liters, the total output of 122 and 180 HP respectively.
Unlike the Corolla GR Sport offered for both hatchback and Touring Sports wagon, the cross-version of Trek is only available for the wagon. The car is offered with the same hybrid power units on the basis of petrol engines of 1.8 and 2.0 l of the unique elements of the style – 17-inch wheels, plastic trims on the bumpers and wheel arches, led headlights and fog lights. Interior sport seats with two-tone trim, 7.0-inch display for the infotainment system and decor “wood”.
The cross version was developed in collaboration with the American company Trek Bicycle – one of the world’s largest Bicycle manufacturers. The company was founded in 1976 and currently sells about 1.5 million bicycles per year worldwide. Corolla Terk will be used as a transport aid for men’s and women’s teams Trek-Segafredo World Tour on the European stages races.
