A fully electric version of the Toyota Proace brings together three previously submitted elektroorgana from PSA. From the point of view of technology, it is not a surprise.
New “electric party” PSA began with the presentation of a fully electric version of the Opel Vivaro, which was followed by Citro?n e-Jumpy and Peugeot e-Expert. However, with the 2016 Toyota Proace also moves on the same base PSA, and as expected, now the Japanese vans also got an electric power plant.
As its platform brothers, Proace Electric gets an electric motor 136 HP, which can get energy from two different battery packs. Battery capacity of 50 kWh guarantees that Toyota will reach 230 km on a single battery charge, and in versions with a capacity of 75 kWh mileage will be equal to 330 km In both cases the maximum torque is 260 Nm and a top speed limited to 130 km/h On the coupling device to hang a trailer weight of 1000 kg (with brakes).
Using a rapid charger with a capacity of 100 kW Proace Electric can be recharged to 80% in 30-45 minutes. Using a conventional three-phase charger in for 2 hours to recharge the battery for the electric mileage of 100 km.
Electric Proace is available in different sizes: compact, work, long work, a double cabin and a truck. The Luggage compartment volume in these versions varies from 4.6 cubic meters (compact) up to a maximum of 6.6 cubic meters (long working). Electric van, the Proace can be used for several purposes: as a “loading” of municipal employees or as a mini-truck for delivery of parcels.
Version Shuttle, which in the standard version can carry nine passengers, is expected in early 2021. This modification comes with a rechargeable battery more power 75 kWh and can travel 300 km on the WLTP cycle.
The first copies of the all-electric Toyota Proace van will appear at dealers in October of this year. According to the publication autoweek.nl logs orders open at once, the price lists will be officially announced later.
