Trump has signed a decree authorizing sanctions against officials of the International criminal court

Трамп подписал указ о разрешении санкций в отношении должностных лиц Международного уголовного суда

Trump has authorized Secretary Mike Pompeo in agreement with the Minister of Finance Steven Mucina freeze the U.S. assets of members of the International criminal court (ICC) involved in the investigation, and to deny them entry into the U.S., according to Bloomberg.

Senior administration official trump said that the ICC investigation “initiated by the organization with a dubious reputation” and accused Russia of complicity.

“We have reason to believe that the higher levels of the Prosecutor of the ICC, there is corruption, which casts doubt on the impartiality of this investigation in relation to the us military. We are concerned that Russia could manipulate the ICC, encouraging the accusations against the American military,” – said the representative of the United States.

U.S. attorney General William Barr stated that the U.S. justice Department has relevant and credible information about corruption in the International criminal court and investigating.

William Barr condemns the international criminal court as a tool of “unaccountable international elites.”

According to him, “this institution (the ICC) in practice unlikely to become something more than a political tool… used to manipulate the foreign policy of the democratic sovereign countries, including the United States.”

According to the attorney General, the United States will hold an investigation into the activities of the ICC, and, “if possible, to call those responsible to justice.”

He also said that the measures announced today “is an important first step in bringing the ICC to the responsibility for the violation of the sovereignty of the United States.”
