Following the talks in Ankara military delegations of Turkey and Russia signed an agreement on Syria.
This was stated by the Minister of defence of Turkey, Hulusi Akar, Correspondent Friday, March 13.
The first step provided for by the agreements is the joint patrols from March 15 on the M4 highway Lattakia-Aleppo.
“Thanks to the Turkish-Russian patrolling the M4 highway we will make a significant contribution to a sustainable truce in Syria,” said ACAR.
Turkey and Russia will coordinate their actions in Syria through joint coordination centers, the Minister said.
The Minister stressed that from the North-West of Syria received a positive message about the interruption of the flow of internally displaced persons and even the return of Syrians to their homeland.
“Turkey is committed to ensuring a lasting ceasefire in Idlib and did everything necessary in this direction. The Russian side adheres to a constructive position on this issue”, – summed up Hulusi Akar.
Earlier, Putin and Erdogan have come to an agreement on Syria. The leaders of Turkey and Russia have agreed to cease fire at midnight on 6 March and the creation of a security corridor.
Later, Turkey started to take artillery in Syria. Turkey recorded isolated cases of violations of the ceasefire in Idlib and the withdrawal of troops.
