After a protest lodged by the football Federation of Luxembourg and the Portuguese football Federation, UEFA, has opened disciplinary proceedings against Ukraine. The reason – participation in matches for the national team of Ukraine Junior Moraes.

Football Federation of Portugal and Luxembourg challenged the participation of Junior Moraes in matches for the national team of Ukraine. First a defeat for the participation of Moraes in the match demanded Portugal. Local newspaper indicated that the player has not fulfilled one of the necessary conditions for citizenship – residence in the territory of Ukraine continuously 5 years. Later this idea decide to use and of the football Federation of Luxembourg.

The protest was filed within the Control, ethics and disciplinary body UEFA, said on the organization’s website. At one upcoming meeting and will address this issue. However, his date is still unknown.

Junior Moraes received Ukrainian citizenship on March 15. However, this only became known on March 18. And already on March 19 Junior Moraes received a call to the national team. He played in two qualifiers on 22 and 25 March. In the first Ukraine played out a draw with Portugal. In the second, the Ukrainians have won in Monaco thanks to an own goal in injury time.

Moraes moved to Metalurh Donetsk in the summer of 2017. And before the winter of 2017 played for the Ukrainian clubs – “metallurg” and “Dynamo”. However, in February 2017, the player was ceded to the Chinese “Tianjin Coinstar”. In China, Moraes spent four months. In the summer of 2017, he returned to Dynamo, and a year later moved to Shakhtar Donetsk.

In this case, all depends on how UEFA will treat the situation “continuously”, given a four-month excommunication Junior Moraes to rent in a Chinese club. Ukraine also faces technical porcasi in these matches. So three points will earn teams of Portugal and Luxembourg. The latter will be the leader of the group with six points. The Portuguese will have four points and are in second place. Meanwhile, leader of group B is the national team of Ukraine, which scored four points in two games against these teams.
