The Ministers of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba and Iceland gudlaugur Thor Thordarson has agreed to accelerate the preparation of the agreement on mutual promotion and protection of investments.
“The Ministers reaffirmed their interest in accelerating the preparations for the signing are important for further activation of bilateral cooperation and interpersonal contacts documents: Agreement on the promotion and mutual protection of investments and Agreement on air communication”, – is spoken in the message.
It is noted that the foreign Minister of Ukraine expressed interest in deepening relations with Iceland based on deep historical roots.
Gudlaugur Thor Thordarson noted that his country, as a NATO member supports the Euro-Atlantic aspirations of Ukraine.
The foreign Ministers noted mutual stance to keep sanctions pressure on Russia until full implementation by Moscow of its obligations under the Minsk agreement and de-occupation of Crimea and Sevastopol, and not to link the issue of sanctions with the spread of the pandemic.
The sides noted the high level of cooperation within international organizations.
As have informed in the Ministry of foreign Affairs, Iceland’s contribution to the operational budget of the OSCE SMM is about 40 thousand Euro a year.
