Special envoy of the US state Department on Ukraine Kurt Volker said that he would like to hold a meeting with the Russian side to discuss a solution to the conflict in the Donbas. Walker noted that he does not see Moscow’s desire to solving the problem.
“I would like to meet with my Russian colleagues in the near future, but I don’t know what format it’s possible. I agree to meet with them to discuss further steps if Russia seriously wants to make progress,” – said in a statement, Volcker on the Website of the U.S. Senate.
We hope that Russia will choose the world (in Ukraine) and will work with us on the cessation of hostilities,
– added Walker.
He also assured that Russia, unlike Ukraine, is not trying to implement (implement) the agreement in Minsk.
USA supports the decision of the Ukrainian crisis in the Normandy format at the level of OSCE and the Trilateral contact group.

Earlier, Walker said that Russia should implement the decision of the International Tribunal for the law of the sea in the captured Ukrainian sailors and release them from captivity.
In addition, Walker argued that the U.S. is ready to deliver to Ukraine defensive lethal weapons to enhance military skills. This may occur as part of a congressional funding and outside the direct procurement of the Ukraine.
What are the Minsk agreement?

The Minsk agreements signed at the summit in the Belarusian capital on 11 and 12 February 2015. The signatories of the deals – the leaders of Germany, France, Ukraine and Russia in the format “Norman Quartet.” Subsequently, the agreement was signed by the contact group consisting of representatives of Russia, Ukraine, representatives of the breakaway republics.
