Human activities have led to critical changes in the weather
This summer, Western Europe covered the unprecedented heat. AFP journalists explained the cause of the abnormality, referring to the study of world weather.
As stated by scientists, without harmful intervention in the Earth’s climate, the temperature in the regions suffering from the heat would be much lower. The difference would be about 1.5-3 degrees. This difference is comparable to the increased incidence of morbidity and mortality. Global warming has made the probability of a hot summer in some areas up to hundreds of times more than is predicted by the computer model.
And to blame human activity. The researchers are convinced: if not for the intervention in the natural course of events, a sharp temperature swings would happen once in a thousand years. Meanwhile, an employee of the Swiss Federal Institute of technology in Zurich Mar Vogel remarked that in this century there were already five hot summer periods in Europe. They occurred in 2018, 2016, 2010, 2003 and 2002. The researcher warned that Europeans must prepare for heat waves annually. Not to avoid the weather and Ukraine.
In addition, the world meteorological organization announced disappointing record. So July 2019 was the hottest month in the history of observations. 25 July in the city of Lingen, located in the North-West of Germany, scientists have recorded 42.6 degrees Celsius. These indicators had never been there before.
In the Belgian Klein-Brogel too hot was a record – 38.9 degrees on July 31 and 40.6 degrees on 1 August. According to the Royal meteorological Institute of Belgium, it is the highest temperature since 1833, when scientists began to observe the weather conditions. In Paris even called for an emergency climate situation. In the mayor’s office said that creating the Intergovernmental panel on climate change. Climate scientists, sociologists, and other experts will be engaged in ecology.
World meteorological organization, the UN also predicts that 2019 will eventually become one of the hottest in the history of mankind. At the same time, the five-year period from 2015 to 2019 will break the record for high average temperatures in the entire history of observations.
