Airports are “measured by” number of passengers for the year. Of course, the Dnieper river is still far from capital air gates, but we do not graze the rear. And while there is elections there is talk about building a transportation hub on the border of the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions.
According to the Center for transport strategies, the airport of the Dnieper for 2018 served 8% more passengers than in the past, and brought the number of customers 250 to 299 people. The worst performance throughout Ukraine demonstrated the Krivoy Rog airport. The number of passengers for the year fell by 32.4% and amounted to only 21 964 people. For comparison, the airport in Kharkiv for the 2018 served 962 500 people and an increase of 19.4%.
The leaders of the Kiev airports “Boryspil” and “Zhulyany” (12 million 603 thousand 271 people and 2 million 812 thousand 300 customers, respectively). All airports of Ukraine was able to service in 2018 20,545 million people.
In addition, last year Ukraine became the running of the airport anymore. According to the Center for transport strategies, in July earned the airport of Poltava, and in December of Nikolaev. The Poltava airport in 2018 has received international status and had until the end of the year to serve 968 passengers and Nikolaev – 256 passengers.
What airport in the river
25 January 2019 on the website of the Ministry of infrastructure of Ukraine reported about the joint meeting of the Minister of infrastructure Volodymyr Omelyan, Chairman of the Dnipropetrovsk regional Council Gleb Prygunova, Vice-chair of Dneprova Vladimir Yurchenko, Tetiana Rychkova MP, Chairman of the state aviation administration Alexander Belchuk, head of the State Agency infrastructure projects Nikolay Bozhko and representatives of UkSATSE.
At the meeting they talked about the construction of the airport under the working title “Dnieper” on the border of the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhya oblasts in the village. Salt. Existing airports in the Dnieper Zaporozhye require, according to the Minister, the overhaul, which at a cost commensurate with the construction of the new complex.
“The airfield in the village of Salt – this is a new, modern infrastructure that will give new life not only to Salt but also in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions in General, – quotes words of the Minister of infrastructure Volodymyr Omelyan website of the Department. – We start the construction of the airport, and together with it launched the development of the entire surrounding infrastructure. We expect that in the two years after the start of the new airport passenger throughput will reach 1.5-2 million passengers. After 2018, the total passenger traffic of the airports of the Dnepr and Zaporozhye amounted to slightly less than 700 thousand people. This ultra-low numbers for such a large region and with such high potential”.
Most likely, in Kiev decided not to wait until the end of the dispute over the airport in the river, and started to design a new complex between regions. “Voted in the budget said that the airport will be built in Dnipropetrovsk region, – said the Chairman of the Dnepropetrovsk regional Council Gleb Prygunov at a meeting with journalists in November 2018. – Now the issue with existing airport in the river and that is still an option. All know why this option doesn’t move from “a dead point”. Because today we are not sure of the ownership of the property, territories, lands. A final decision needs to finalise ownership and the opportunity to develop this airport.”
The informant Money wrote that the dispute of the state property Fund and the owner of the airport company “Accountants” on the promotion of the Dnieper airport returned on new consideration in economic court of the Dnieper. In addition to these proceedings, the courts had bankruptcy cases the airport and the fine to the company-owner. There is a dispute between the airport of the Dnieper, the national Bank of Ukraine and PrivatBank about the loan agreement in 2009, but the case is closed.
We will follow developments and news tell.
