Ultraviolet radiation is active even in cloudy weather – up to 80% reach the surface of the Earth. This is enough to cause a sunburn from the owners of snow-white skin type.
UV rays can be reflected off clouds, water, snow, sand, grass and metal, increasing its impact, reports Lifehacker.
Glass retains the rays of type B, but the emission of A-type penetrate even through the Windows of homes and cars. In locations closer to the equator, exposure to the sun’s rays on the skin increases because they fall at right angles.

The sun’s rays contribute to aging of the skin – they destroy elastin and collagen (proteins that are responsible for skin tone).
Regardless of the time of year, UV rays can cause skin cancer (bazalnocletocnaya carcinoma, aderman carcinoma and melanoma). The same applies to tanning.
So even in winter and on cloudy you should use sunscreen at least when you are outdoors.
