Ukrainian Lesya Tsurenko commented at a press conference his victory over Aleksandra Krunic in the second round of Roland Garros.
The game Tsurenko vs. Alexandra Krunic lasted more than 3 hours. Tennis players started their match on Thursday, may 30. But do not have time to finish. So the game had to be rescheduled to Friday, may 31.
Yesterday, the greatest psychological problem was that I am now 30 years (Thursday was my birthday) and I had so many different opinions. I think it was one of the worst days of my life.
“I thought that everything would be fine, but I have two days worried: I am 30 years old I don’t have much time, and so on. Not that it’s some horrible thoughts, but during the match they interfere. Psychologically it was very difficult, and in the end body would not obey. In the end, I just wanted as soon as possible to finish to give up. But, you know, all my life I play tennis, so at some point I thought: no no no, we must fight. That’s what I did,” said Lesya.
By the way, Tsurenko was the last representative of Ukraine in the women’s singles French Open championship. Earlier, the tournament left Diane Yastremsky, Elina Svitolina and Ekaterina Kozlova.
