Yuliya Menshova is returned to the First channel with a new talk show “Our people” – yet another attempt to understand the Soviet reality, but this time through the prism of cinema. Each episode will focus on one film or television series, the state guest will be formed from people directly related to the selected movie (actors, Directors, Directors), which will make the company people who have become popular in the year of the release tape. Guests will share stories from the set and from his personal life. But that’s not all – each issue will involve fashion historians, telling about the everyday signs of the times: trends, materials and textures, and what tricks were the fashion in the Soviet conditions of scarcity.
“This is a traditional talk show, with a large number of participants, not a detailed and in-depth interview with one person. It seems to me that nostalgia today was not so much a mood, how formed in a separate and bright trend. People enjoy participate in flash mobs in social networks. And happily subscribe to historical accounts. Publish photos of their parents and grandparents views of city streets, remember the icons that we collected, the toys of childhood, fashion of the 60s and 70s, 80s and 90s. In each of our program we remember a film, released in Soviet times. And since the film is not only a story, but something that would sort of “stops” in every detail, the conversation in the Studio will go about what were our people in the year of release of this movie. Why this topic was of interest to them, and made the film a favorite audience? How was filming the picture? And then what we lived ourselves, in our vast country? That bought, wore, ate, read, listened to? Our people – we, the people of the vast country, of different generations. Including the heroes of our program. The immediate creators of the film, as well as people, which became popular at that time in various activities, and fashion historians helping us to recover the household signs of our recent past” – said Julia.
