The President was late more than three hours because of a plane malfunction.
Late in the evening of 20 November, President Vladimir Zelensky arrived in Ochakov of the Nikolaev area to explore Russia liberated the ships of naval forces of Ukraine, who returned to his homeland.
“Vladimir Zelensky arrived in Ochakov, where he inspected the armored boat “Berdyansk” and “Nikopol” and tug “Yana Kapu” and talked with the sailors, released in September,” – said the press Secretary of the President of Julius Mendel.
“Step by step we go towards the world, looking for a diplomatic solution to the fighting and that our Ukraine was again United,” reads the telegram channel Zelensky.
According to media reports, Zelensky arrived to Nikolaev with a delay of three hours due to engine failure near the presidential plane. He and other people had to transfer to another plane.
Initially, the visit of the head of state in the Ochakov was scheduled for 19:00, but from-for breakages of the plane was delayed more than three hours.
The ships of naval forces of Ukraine seized by Russia a year ago, arrived in the military Harbor of the city of Ochakov of the Nikolaev area on November 20. Military assess the condition of the vessels as very poor.
At a briefing after inspection of the ships the President said that the Ukrainian side will analyze the returned status of the three Russian Navy ships and will definitely appeal to Russia, to return something, they are not enough.
“I am very glad that our military boats on the spot. As we promised, we returned to our sailors, and returned to our boats. What we saw really lacking (in the courts – ed.) and equipment partially and is not enough, we talked with the Admiral and some of the things I can’t say, parts of weapons. I saw the condition, will investigate, we will see all the details. We will turn to the Russian side that we returned all there is”, – quotes Vladimir Zelensky Interfax-Ukraine.
While Zelensky has indicated that Ukraine will be engaged in parallel and repair of these vessels.
“We talked with Mr Voronchenko (commander of the naval forces of Armed forces of Ukraine, Admiral Igor Voronchenko, ed.), somewhere for three months and everything will be on track,” he said.
