The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky held a meeting with leaders of parliamentary factions before extraordinary session of the Verkhovna Rada, convened in connection with the pandemic coronavirus. It is reported by the Office of the President.
So, Zelensky emphasized the importance of ensuring the presence of all the deputies at the extraordinary session.
“Before extraordinary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, President Vladimir Zelensky met with leaders of parliamentary factions and Deputy groups. The head of state stressed the importance of ensuring the presence of all the deputies at the extraordinary session as Ukraine faces large challenges, and Parliament must help to overcome them”, – stated in the message.
The head of state noted that the MPs should help businesses and socially unprotected layers of the population.
“We need to protect the economy, to take a number of initiatives to help business, employees of important enterprises, to socially vulnerable layers of the population. I ask that the deputies came in on a Saturday to vote on the proposed initiatives. It is their responsibility to help the Ukrainians?? such difficult times,” he said.
